Design Crush: MadebyGirl

Every time I stumble upon images of Jen from MadeByGirl's home, I love them just as much. The spaces are fresh, vibrant, fun and reflect personality. I love. I think you will too:

If you weren't already jealous of her home & eye, just wait.... she is a talented artist: COCOA AND HEARTS: Original paintings They are creative, colorful, upbeat and fun. Almost like my color theory paintings in college, only 100X cooler. Definitely need to add to my 2007 splatter painting in my living room!

love, love. Inspiration and then some- thank you Jen!

So sad these amazing DK Living elephant hooks were sold out at Joss and Main!!

gimme' that couch (please)

I love high contrasted living rooms with pops of color so I want either a lighter couch or a darker couch - knowing me it should most likely be dark. All the couches I love are ridiculously expensive. I've been searching for a couch I like that I have a shot at actually being able to afford and this is what I came up with... thoughts/suggestions?!

1. Wyatt Sectional - Charcoal Gray $1000- (World Market)
2. Kivik - Tullinge gray-brown $499- (Ikea)
3. Movie Steel Sofa - Dark Steel $1000- (CB2)
4. Kivik Loveseat and chaise lounge - Tullinge gray-brown $828- Blekinge white $678- (Ikea)
5. Pastello Sofa $449 (Local craigslist)
Sketchy I know... but without those pillows in a different setting it might be able to have potential?
   Or be overwhelmingly hideous.
6. angelo:home Sutton Antique Silver grey $500- (Overstock) Ignore the offensively ugly striped pillows

Tub Envy

Haven't blogged in...I don't even know how long... whoops. Work is a madhouse and I have been running around trying to soak up the sun every chance I get. I love summer ESPECIALLY after particularly miserable winters. I celebrated the little sissy's 19th b.day, senior prom AND high school graduation last week - such fun chaos!

I just saw this tub in the summer issue of my Boston home and I am in love.

I obviously haven't been keeping up with my daily blog reading either because once I went online to further investigate it was everywhere. So just in case I am not the absolute last one to see this amazing tubby - I shared. My future children NEED this.

and a lil' summer inspiration from one of my favorites': apartmenttherapy:

yes please.

I love the clean lines and the solid bottom cushions. Although I certainly can't afford either, if you are lucky enough to be able to find retailers here. If anyone knows of similar cheaper styles - spill!

Convertible Daydreaming...

Summer is coming... I hope. Cue the convertible lust. It doesn't matter that they are entirely impractical in New England's climate, it would still make the the happiest girl in the world for three glorious months.  Who wants to buy/lease me a...

Mother's Day Gift Guide's

Can someone make this for Minnie?!
Yet another rainy day... wompwompwomp. Everyone needs to head over to Lil Hoot to check out my gift guide's! Check them out on Lil Hoot's blog (we LOVE lil hoot). You are bound to find something in one of the posts from this creative mama!

In the works...

Currently working on my Mother's Day Gift Guide for Sarah at Lil' Hoot Parties. I won't lie I'm pretty very excited. Without giving too much away I'll share one of my favorite finds for the newbie mom's:

Wishbone and Locket Necklace
New mom's could use a little bit of luck- scratch that we ALL could use all the luck we can get! Buy your own here. I'm not a new mom.... but I am the mother of a feisty, 6 year old chihuahua Minnie. She is ALMOST as good a dancer as her mother.

She got it from her mama ;) circa 2007
Stay tuned for the gift guide.

need.want.love. RAINY DAY EDITION!

It was foul out there today. I was legitimately worried my glasses were going to blow away.

1. Daydreaming of this Metrofarm Bed

2.  The only pair of rain boots I have are from high school (hot pink, look like cats, would fit in better at an elementary school) so needless to say I do in fact need these Hunter Rain Boots

3. Minx Nail Polish Films now available at Sephora (obsessed)

4. So you obviously can't buy these painted stair treads but such a fun idea. The color options are endless. Or you could mix it up and paint the risers. This would make me VERY happy.

5. Hanger Tea phenomenal package design!

6. Love the shadows these West Elm Porcelain Tealight Holders create.

7. CUSTOMIZABLE Luxeed Keyboard with color changing LEDs under every key. This would SIGNIFCANTLY improve the quality of my life at the office. While the facilities manager seemed amused it's safe to say it's not happening.

Hairi & Hairi Architecture Pool House

Living in New England is like being in a bad relationship. You have four perfect months, two decent months, followed by six miserable ones. You always debate leaving, but you tell yourself the good outweighs the bad and you wait for the next incredible four months to roll around. But I mean it this time I'm really almost done you make it hard to justify staying when you treat me this way.

Summer daydreaming today - I NEED sunshine I wouldn't object to this pool house by Hariri & Hariri Architecture either ;)

no. 6: This hot pink accent pillow to add some fun to a room.

no. 7: These chevron-tags to contrast simple brown paper gift wrap

no. 8: This Poppy's Closet Chevron Dress for my future daughter.

That's all... for now.

Stumbled upon this latest branch of this Japanese company on Architizer.com & I love it. Simple, clean, sculptural & fun.

Houzz.com is my latest internet find. I saw it in Real Simple back in September, finally checked it out and love it. You can search by style, room and city then save the images you like into different categories to draw inspiration. Which is perfect for me because the amount of Interior Design images I save is surely going to crash my computer someday.

"The online equivalent of clipping decor inspiration from magazines... browse more than 40,000 images submitted by interior decorators, architects and design-minded users (filtered by space, style and more), then save them in your virtual idea book." - Real Simple

Definitely worth checking out.
